Aquascape Ecosystem Pond and Waterfall

Establishing a haven for wildlife requires delicate workmanship; our team are fully trained in aquascaping, and this intricate method allows one to mirror nature’s work. We worked with the curvature of the garden and embankment to design and create a pond that looked natural and belonged to its landscape. The owners’ priorities were to attract and accommodate native wildlife and the installation of aquatic plants allows the wildlife to feel safe and protected whilst improving the water quality and bringing brightness, softness, and maturity to the pond.

Our team worked in harmony with nature to create a balanced ecosystem. The biological recirculation system ensures the maintenance of oxygen in the water; keeping the wildlife healthy and happy, and the sound of the trickling water brings tranquillity and serenity to a once unused part of the garden.

State of the art Self-Cleaning System

Using the innovative technology of the state of the art cleaning system, our team turned a once stagnant pond into a crystal-clear haven for the fish and wildlife that were pre-existing; unbeknown to the owner!

To begin, the team carried out a full drain and re-line of the pond due to the failing of the existing pond liner causing a leak. Housing the fish, we then filled the pond back up before installing a specialist, bespoke self-cleaning filtration system. These state-of-the-art systems will remove particles smaller than a third of human hair. The drum enters a cleaning cycle when the waste has built up making it extremely low maintenance. The waste from the pond water is then discharged into a drain and the clean water goes through bio-chambers full of good bacteria before re-entering the pond. This ensures optimum pond and fish health. Once the water was up to the correct quality, we reintroduced the resident fish and wildlife.

Wildlife Beach Haven

A traditional pond rebuild in keeping with our environmental aims. Our team re-designed the pond to fit in with the surrounding landscape and wildlife; adding in a pebbled beach area to allow frogs to easily exit and enter the pond, and the addition of a small waterfall soothes listening ears.

We began this project by draining the pond fully and housing the resident frogs in a safe place while we worked in the area! The pond was re-lined and our team fitted a new pump, filtration and electric system. The disturbance of the old muck makes the water seem dirty but after a few hours of the filter doing its thing, the water is now crystal clear and the frogs are happy in their new home!
