Formal Pond Install and Bespoke Water Feature

We’re excited to share this project!

This formal pond install with precise, clean edges really finishes off the grounds of this beautiful home. Framed by the symmetrical landscaping, the pond really stands centre stage, accentuating and complimenting the existing grounds.

We made a bespoke water feature which perfectly fitted the pond and was completely one of a kind, of which the flow rate can be controlled by the touch of a button.

We also installed a bottom drain, which feeds into a Filter with UV Steriliser to keep the water clean. This also means the pond can be drained by pulling a lever, leaving a clean, aesthetic finish with no visible pipework or cables.

Bespoke Cellar Renovation

The team recently completed a full renovation of a cellar, creating a new home office for the homeowners, complete with a sleek multi-purpose meeting space 😎

Our team excavated the original floor, laid a new, insulated concrete slab, and installed stud work and insulation to begin the works.

We also took out a wall and installed structural steel work to make the space more open and work better for the homeowners and their ideal finish.

The result is a stylish, multi-purpose room that now feels like a natural extension of the home 🏡

Thank you to MRW for their work with the electrics and Darren Martin for the plastering 🙌

Full Garden Renovation

This garden has had a full makeover to create a comfortable, stylish space that’s perfect for both relaxing and entertaining. There are several different patios and seating areas positioned to catch the sun throughout the day, so there’s always a nice spot to sit. A bespoke outdoor kitchen and BBQ area has been installed, featuring a custom polished concrete worktop, along with fridges and a dedicated wine and beer cooler — ideal for hosting friends and family.

Artificial grass has been laid to provide a safe, low-maintenance area for kids to play football and run around. Privacy screening and Venetian-style fencing have been added to make the garden feel more secluded, while feather-edge fencing and a matching front gate at the front of the property improve security and keep everything looking neat. Railway sleeper planting borders finish the space off, creating attractive areas for plants and flowers.

Fencing

Fencing does not have to be boring! Fencing is important to ensure privacy for both you and your neighbours. We offer a range of different fencing options, with our most popular being closed board fencing as it allows both you and your neighbours to get the best of having a fence looking pristine from both sides. Our team installed this close board fencing using sustainably sourced and treated timber to provide protection from the harsh weather in the Peak District whilst offering privacy and security, too.

Aquascape Ecosystem Pond and Waterfall

Establishing a haven for wildlife requires delicate workmanship; our team are fully trained in aquascaping, and this intricate method allows one to mirror nature’s work. We worked with the curvature of the garden and embankment to design and create a pond that looked natural and belonged to its landscape. The owners’ priorities were to attract and accommodate native wildlife and the installation of aquatic plants allows the wildlife to feel safe and protected whilst improving the water quality and bringing brightness, softness, and maturity to the pond.

Our team worked in harmony with nature to create a balanced ecosystem. The biological recirculation system ensures the maintenance of oxygen in the water; keeping the wildlife healthy and happy, and the sound of the trickling water brings tranquillity and serenity to a once unused part of the garden.

Land Drainage and Groundworks

A boggy lawn is now a useable and aesthetically pleasing backdrop for this family home. Prior to our work, the lawn was boggy and full of surface water. To remedy this, the team installed over 250m of land drains to provide a diversion for the water that was running down from the hillside. To define the lawn and driveway we laid a twin row of reclaimed granite cobbles as a border to in-keep with the existing stone of the property.

The family also wanted the existing driveway and drive to be more in keeping with the property’s aesthetic and so our team re-dressed it with stone to appear mature to the grounds.

Premium Turf Lawn

A fresh start for an old, tired lawn! The existing lawn was uneven and difficult to maintain, and the drainage was very poor. The owners wanted to keep fresh grass in their new design but wanted to make it more manageable whilst adding in extra drainage solutions so that their garden was accessible and useable all year round.

After stripping the existing lawn and levelling the ground underneath, we lay high-quality topsoil as a base for the premium turf at the top of the garden. At the bottom of the garden, the owners wanted space for their potted plants, and with drainage being an issue, decorative gravel was the perfect solution; it is aesthetically pleasing whilst acting as a soakaway area, too. Defining the two sections of the garden is a twin row of cobbles that frames the premium turf and defines the decorative gravel.

Reclaimed York Stone Riverside

A picturesque riverside haven; perfect for those summer nights. Originally, the space was redundant and overgrown, and the owners did not know what they wanted but knew they wanted to be able to use the space.

Our team worked collaboratively with the owners to design the perfect space for outdoor dining and entertainment while in keeping with the rest of the 18th-century property.

The team carried out extensive groundworks to terrace a steep embankment, using reclaimed York stone as the basis of their design. Everything else was built around this, and the hand-worked stone steps now provide safe access to the riverside.

State of the art Self-Cleaning System

Using the innovative technology of the state of the art cleaning system, our team turned a once stagnant pond into a crystal-clear haven for the fish and wildlife that were pre-existing; unbeknown to the owner!

To begin, the team carried out a full drain and re-line of the pond due to the failing of the existing pond liner causing a leak. Housing the fish, we then filled the pond back up before installing a specialist, bespoke self-cleaning filtration system. These state-of-the-art systems will remove particles smaller than a third of human hair. The drum enters a cleaning cycle when the waste has built up making it extremely low maintenance. The waste from the pond water is then discharged into a drain and the clean water goes through bio-chambers full of good bacteria before re-entering the pond. This ensures optimum pond and fish health. Once the water was up to the correct quality, we reintroduced the resident fish and wildlife.
