A complete transformation! The owners of this property were unhappy with their unusable outdoor space and asked us to design them a new, accessible piece of paradise that was easy to maintain. Their main priority was to have a large patio area for outdoor dining and entertainment.
The project began with a dig-out of almost 60 tonnes to level the garden and allow the inside of the home to flow effortlessly with the outside space. Once cleared and levelled, the back of the property was terraced; on the higher level, we lay an artificial grass “sundeck”; a place to relax and feel at one with nature amongst the plants, and on the lower level we laid over 100sqm of Indian Sandstone; ample space for entertainment. The two terraces were distinguished by a curved retaining wall and plant borders, and a set of sandstone steps embedded into the centre of the curve.
At the front of their property, the owners wanted a useable driveway that was also aesthetically pleasing and flowed with the rest of the renovations. We used thicker driveway grade Indian Sandstone in the same finish as the garden to allow the paving to wrap around the house and flow seamlessly into the back garden. The garden and driveway were both lined with a twin row of cobbles to frame the sandstone flags and give a premium finish.
